Training:- Training is the main scheme of sports department. Under this, by providing high level training in various sports by skilled trainers to boys/girls below the age of 18 years, admission to sports colleges/sports hostels and participation in various level competitions organized by sports department/different sports federations/and other departments. to prepare. The above training camps are run by the departmental trainers and part-time honorarium trainers posted by the Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. At present, sports grounds and infrastructure are available in Sports Stadium, Mau for football, handball, wrestling, kabaddi, volleyball, hockey, cricket, basketball, athletics, gymnastics, badminton etc. In the current financial year, the football training camp at Sports Stadium, Mau is being operated by the departmental trainer posted by the Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh and the handball, kabaddi and wrestling training camp is being operated by the part-time honorarium trainers. Boys/girls players willing to participate in the above training camps can get training by paying 50/- registration and 100/- annual fee related to UP Sports Development and Promotion Committee.
Apart from this, under the Khelo India Center scheme run by the Sports Authority of India, a hockey game center is established in Mau district. The training camp of Khelo India Hockey Center is being operated from June 08, 2022.
Competition – Competition is another important scheme of the sports department, under which various sports competitions are organized on various national festivals, sports day, Gandhi Jayanti and other auspicious occasions. Along with this, in coordination with various sports associations and Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh, state level competitions of sub-junior and junior boys/girls of various sports are also organized every year, in which teams/players are selected for participation first at district level and then later. It is done at the divisional level, which participate in the said regional competitions. In the state level competitions, the selected players / teams participate in the national competitions, which are decided by the Directorate of Sports, Uttar Pradesh.
Eligibility of the beneficiary – All the boys / girls players under the age of 18 years can take advantage of the above facility by taking admission in the above training camp.
